Popplio builds Snow-Pokemon!! I had a lot of fun doing this and I was really surprised it only took me 3 hours to do! There was even some natural sunlight available this rainy Florida winter. I included a low light picture so you could see some shimmer action.
I used Sinful Colors Cinderella (like a billion coats, I should have learned to put this over a light blue base by now!) and the rest is acrylic paints. I freaking love how the bow turned out, and my snow-Pokemon were pretty easy, the hardest part was their tiny scarves. Popplio’s body is a weird shape and took me a billion tries but WHOO! We did it!
All in all I’m really happy with this design. And because my fiance is amazing, while I was sick he bought me Pokemon Sun early!!! So I’ve been playing pretty much every free chance I get (Private Message me if you’d like to trade!!).
I haven’t done Pokemon nails in a while so why not now that I’m waiting on Pokemon Sun! I started with Rowlet because I KNOW for sure that this is my starter. I love all the starters but I’m partial to owls. I mean just look at how cute he is!!
So I had to do some Rowlet Christmas nail art to hold me over. I freakin love them (and this gif ugh)! But they were super detailed so I didn’t even bother with my other hand.
The green polish is Sinful Colors San Francisco and everything else is acrylic paint. I kind of want to do the rest of the Sun & Moon starters now. Maybe Popplio building snowmen (or snow-Pokemon!), Litten in a stocking?
** &&& If you have the game as well and want to trade Pokemon PM me with your game tag!!
I KNOW!! Omg rabbit that’s a lot of images. But look at how different each picture is, I mean I needed to capture the amazingness of ILNP My Private Rainbow jelly sandwiched over Pure Ice Satin Ribbon and Wetn’wild Hallucinate.
Not to mention I did BOTH hands and the other one actually turned out pretty decently!! My topcoat was also so shiny today (second day of wear too lol) that my camera kept focusing on the shine instead of the design.
I was just really feeling me some kind of fall mushroom scene so I did some random green blobbies with my acrylic paint and went from there. I don’t know what the green grassy things are but they totally fit right? I added light green in places to mimic how moss kind of looks and some brown hairs.
I feel like this is probably the easiest detailed design I’ve ever done! You should totally do mushrooms on your nails.
The fox says HOLO!!! hahaha, sorry I had to do it. I LOVE how cute these turned out!! I found my design on google after searching Fox Nails and found The Polished Life’s beautiful fox and leaves design.
I didn’t want to do leaves because I am lazy and doing a million other things for the holidays! (I’ll post pics of the finished products later this month or next month) I opted for some fresh holographic dew, uh yea. haha well, we’ll call it that anyway. I even included an out of focus shot of China Glaze’s Fairy Dust so you could see how holo it is!
The other color I used was also china glaze, Nice Caboose. The first picture (and second picture of my other hand!) is in fluorescent lighting so it looks a bit more maroon than purple but outside it’s almost a different shade, a very plum wine color. I LOVE it!
I used Wet-n-Wilds 2% Milk (about 3 coats, jeeze). After I had that down I used a makeup sponge and dotted polish onto the makeup sponge randomly using Sinful Color’s Ruby Ruby and Sally Hansen’s Plum Luck.
I then used a bit of 2% across the top of all the dots to give it a slight gradient effect and blended the colors in with the sponge like you would any gradient. Then I took Color-Club Snowflakes and sponged it on the tips going up the gradient leaving the top half more bare.
I really love this!! The flakies are the perfect light pink over this rose plum that was created by blending Ruby Ruby and Plum Luck. In the sun they were soo shifty and it’s very hard to capture but it went green at different angles.
I Reallllly wanted to combine Totoro and Halloween and I debated a bit about how to do it. I saw this beautiful totoro cookie art on google after searching Totoro Halloween done by @evelindecora. I love her design so much I had to have it on my nails. I love the way she did the little pumpkin around the last ones’ head like a lamp. So cute :3
I used Essie Lillacism as a base color but my camera cant photograph light purple (or red, 😦 poor phone) it always shows up grey!! It’s actually a really pretty color in person and I’m sure you can find a million other well photographed swatches that aren’t grey.
These are a little worn before I took pictures, this is probably 1 week of wear. Maybe more I’m not sure I’ve had a lot going on here and no time for nails!! surprising as that is. I don’t think I’ll do another Halloween but I will probably do some autumnal themed stuff.
More Halloween nails! I think these ended up so cutee! I found a shutterstock image on google with some cute ghosties and I based my idea off of that.
First I did my glow background with 3 polish colors: Pure Ice Home Run, Sally Hansen Pool Party, and China Glaze Ghoulish Glow. I did the glow polish for the background so that when I painted over it only the ghosts would show through. I outlined them with blue and purple acrylic paints (doing their tiny eyes and mouths) then filled in the gaps between them for a random watercolor feel. If I messed up I just used a slightly wet q-tip to rub the mistake away.I love how these little dudes look so happy!! I’m stuck on cute Halloween nail art. I’m doing some Ghibli Halloween nails next!!
It’s almost OCTOBERRR!! Which means halloween only nails and also a super long break from Overwatch Nails (I’m still doing them all I promise, Zarya is hard though so ideas are REALLY WELCOME).
I love the way this turned out holy cow! Didn’t expect this level of spooky. The duo-chrome polishes ended up blending really well together.
I used black as a base then I smash marbled Sinful Colors Let Me Go, You Just Wait, and China Glaze’s No Plain Jane on my silicone mat and let them dry into nail stickers. After the spooky background was on I used some black acrylic paint to do the trees.
I was a little bored so I decided to do some clouds. I think they turned out okay for me being kind of lazy as well.
I used two colors Finger Paints Brushstroke Blush and Revlon Matte Pearl Glaze. I used acrylic paints for the clouds.
Easy to do and so hard to photograph lol. So many pictures to show you the pearl essence.
I sort of just watered down the acrylic paint really well and dabbed on blue and purple lightly leaving some spots open for the pink to show through in the clouds. Then I went back over them with some white paint to give them more shape and definition.
They are kind of growing on me, at first i was like meh nail fail. But I really love that pearl-essence of the Revlon Matte Pearl Glaze with a shiny topcoat (Out the Door as always).
If you have any requests feel free to ask! I’ll probably be doing some Overwatch nails next, Zarya I think.
All this Holo!! even my engagement ring decided to have a little flair while I was outside taking pictures, it was blingin all over the place. 😀
I used ILNP My private rainbow, Color Club’s Harp On it and I went a little crazy with my silicone mat. I cut out my half moon pieces from some Smash Marbled Stickers. I just put the polish in dots on the mat then smashed it by folding the mat over a bit like a small Rorschach image, it will dry in a sheet on the silicone mat.
I LOVE this silicone mat. I cant stop messing around with it. I made them using WernWild’s Lavender Creme, Finger Paints Brushstroke Blush, Sinful Colors Rise and Shine, and CC Harp On It.
