I Reallllly wanted to combine Totoro and Halloween and I debated a bit about how to do it. I saw this beautiful totoro cookie art on google after searching Totoro Halloween done by @evelindecora. I love her design so much I had to have it on my nails. I love the way she did the little pumpkin around the last ones’ head like a lamp. So cute :3
I used Essie Lillacism as a base color but my camera cant photograph light purple (or red, 😦 poor phone) it always shows up grey!! It’s actually a really pretty color in person and I’m sure you can find a million other well photographed swatches that aren’t grey.
These are a little worn before I took pictures, this is probably 1 week of wear. Maybe more I’m not sure I’ve had a lot going on here and no time for nails!! surprising as that is. I don’t think I’ll do another Halloween but I will probably do some autumnal themed stuff.
More Halloween nails! I think these ended up so cutee! I found a shutterstock image on google with some cute ghosties and I based my idea off of that.
First I did my glow background with 3 polish colors: Pure Ice Home Run, Sally Hansen Pool Party, and China Glaze Ghoulish Glow. I did the glow polish for the background so that when I painted over it only the ghosts would show through. I outlined them with blue and purple acrylic paints (doing their tiny eyes and mouths) then filled in the gaps between them for a random watercolor feel. If I messed up I just used a slightly wet q-tip to rub the mistake away.I love how these little dudes look so happy!! I’m stuck on cute Halloween nail art. I’m doing some Ghibli Halloween nails next!!
It’s almost OCTOBERRR!! Which means halloween only nails and also a super long break from Overwatch Nails (I’m still doing them all I promise, Zarya is hard though so ideas are REALLY WELCOME).
I love the way this turned out holy cow! Didn’t expect this level of spooky. The duo-chrome polishes ended up blending really well together.
I used black as a base then I smash marbled Sinful Colors Let Me Go, You Just Wait, and China Glaze’s No Plain Jane on my silicone mat and let them dry into nail stickers. After the spooky background was on I used some black acrylic paint to do the trees.
Happy Holo-ween!!! Probably my last Halloween mani, but it’s fall so expect pumpkins and fall stuff until the week before Christmas. I did some lazer bats (the twelve-tones video totally comes to mind here) with a side gradient in pastels and some glow in the dark polish!! I can’t do a bunch of Halloween mani’s with out at least one having glow polish. I suck at photographing them though so I used a black light.
Aren’t their little lazery eyes so cute?! :3
I wish that the pink and purple stood out more but I just couldn’t get that contrast with out picking a darker purple or pink and I didn’t want to stray too far from the pastel feel. My glitter was a little bright on my gradient too but the glow polish created a beautiful jelly sandwich.
The holographic glitter on my thumb and ring finger is Finger Paints Colorful Collage, my pastels are Sinful colors – Sugar Rush (blue) and Sweet Tooth (purple), Color Show – Chiffon Chic (pink), and Sally Hansen – Mint Sorbet (green). I also used a small kid size bottle of some no name polish that is a sparse holo-glitter with one coat of China glaze Ghoulish Glow on top. The bats are acrylic paint and I put some small glitter specks for lazer eyes. 😀
I saw these really cute voodoo doll nails on Reddit last year and I didn’t get a chance to try them out. This year I made sure I did them and I’m so happy with how they turned out! They’re my creepy little buddies, I want to snuggle them.
The polish I used for this design was mostly my base color and the hearts on the little dolls and the silver for the pins.
The colors I used are finger paints Sketchy, with one coat of Elf Fairy Dust and one coat of Salon Perfect Champagne Toast for my base color.
The hearts were done with Finger Paints-Pink Perspective, Klean Color-Sea Ice, and Sinful Colors-Cloud 9, Dream On, and Heavy Metal for the pins. Everything else is acrylic paint. They were ridiculously easy to do, I feel like I did them pretty well on my other hand even. I wish I had little heart jewels but I think the silver pins really stand out without them. I cant believe I waited this long to do them though. I want them to stay on forever.
I’ve seen a lot of brain nail art the past couple of weeks and I really wanted to try them! So I did a light pink to dark shimmery pink gradient and then tried to mimic the pattern. They aren’t perfect but I’m so happy with how they turned out!!
I kind of just winged it and it was easy enough that I did my other hand (not photographed as I broke it shortly before I did this design, so it’s in time out)!
I used WetnWild-Tickled Pink, Milani-Hot Pink, and Sinful colors-Got A Blush On You. The black is acrylic paint.
