I used Wet-n-Wilds 2% Milk (about 3 coats, jeeze). After I had that down I used a makeup sponge and dotted polish onto the makeup sponge randomly using Sinful Color’s Ruby Ruby and Sally Hansen’s Plum Luck.
I then used a bit of 2% across the top of all the dots to give it a slight gradient effect and blended the colors in with the sponge like you would any gradient. Then I took Color-Club Snowflakes and sponged it on the tips going up the gradient leaving the top half more bare.
I really love this!! The flakies are the perfect light pink over this rose plum that was created by blending Ruby Ruby and Plum Luck. In the sun they were soo shifty and it’s very hard to capture but it went green at different angles.
It’s almost OCTOBERRR!! Which means halloween only nails and also a super long break from Overwatch Nails (I’m still doing them all I promise, Zarya is hard though so ideas are REALLY WELCOME).
I love the way this turned out holy cow! Didn’t expect this level of spooky. The duo-chrome polishes ended up blending really well together.
I used black as a base then I smash marbled Sinful Colors Let Me Go, You Just Wait, and China Glaze’s No Plain Jane on my silicone mat and let them dry into nail stickers. After the spooky background was on I used some black acrylic paint to do the trees.
I was a little bored so I decided to do some clouds. I think they turned out okay for me being kind of lazy as well.
I used two colors Finger Paints Brushstroke Blush and Revlon Matte Pearl Glaze. I used acrylic paints for the clouds.
Easy to do and so hard to photograph lol. So many pictures to show you the pearl essence.
I sort of just watered down the acrylic paint really well and dabbed on blue and purple lightly leaving some spots open for the pink to show through in the clouds. Then I went back over them with some white paint to give them more shape and definition.
They are kind of growing on me, at first i was like meh nail fail. But I really love that pearl-essence of the Revlon Matte Pearl Glaze with a shiny topcoat (Out the Door as always).
If you have any requests feel free to ask! I’ll probably be doing some Overwatch nails next, Zarya I think.
I did this beautiful gradient with Finger Paints Blushstroke Blush and Beverly’s Touch. I just realized those are both B named polish colors and roses remind me of my grandma Beulah, awe. Ok sentiment aside, I felt like I needed to brush up (hehehe) on my rose game so I put in a little practice. Which I feel like paid off! I need to practice new techniques more often.
I followed some random chart from google after searching how to paint roses. I’ll do a tutorial soon I think after some Overwatch nails which I’ve laxxed on recently due to a loss in my family and my utter inability to work on nail art or any art in general. I’ve mostly been playing a lot of Starbound and cuddling my rabbits and my Fiance to save what sanity I have left at this point. It’s working so far.
I think I’ll be doing Mercy next or maybe widow who knows! If you want to see an overwatch hero let me know and hopefully it will be before I get around to actually doing them. 😛
I played a little Street Fighter 4 but I was prettty bad. I couldn’t play my fiance without raging and wanting to chuck the controller across the room. Thankfully SFV is not quite as hard or maybe it’s new enough that I can actually do fundamentals and link moves together.
For SFV I decided to do an art since I never did one for SFIV. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out too (aside from my wonky + but I did it 200 times and I just gave up). I was going to do glitter because I can’t stay away from it but I did it. I only used one polish Revlon Colorstay Pale Cashmere (The rest of it is acrylic paint.).
I wouldn’t recommend it unless you absolutely love the color, even then I bet you could find something less streaky and doesn’t take 50 coats. I’m lazy and I have too much polish so I just roughed it.
Inspired by a redditlaqueristas post I decided it was time that I do some Studio Ghibli nails. (Especially since I get a Ghibli movie every Christmas which really wasn’t that long ago.) However I wanted to keep it simple as I have so many projects going on (big surprise there /s) and I didn’t feel like spending 12 hours doing my nails. And it could definitely go on that long. Sometimes I just get kind of, in the zone.
I used sinful color sweet tooth, china glaze fairy dust and acrylic paint. I did my other hand as well but my phone is dead so I need to charge it. I’ll edit this post later with a picture of both hands.
If you don’t recognize the characters it’s Jiji from Kiki’s Delivery Service and the little dudes are little soot sprites from My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. I drew little star candies with them like in Spirited Away.
The sprites were fairly easy to do, but Jiji’s body was KILLING me. I kept making him WAY too fat because my nail is a bit short. But after a few retries and his ears being a bit less pointy than I’d like I think he turned out alright!
Happy Holo-ween!!! Probably my last Halloween mani, but it’s fall so expect pumpkins and fall stuff until the week before Christmas. I did some lazer bats (the twelve-tones video totally comes to mind here) with a side gradient in pastels and some glow in the dark polish!! I can’t do a bunch of Halloween mani’s with out at least one having glow polish. I suck at photographing them though so I used a black light.
Aren’t their little lazery eyes so cute?! :3
I wish that the pink and purple stood out more but I just couldn’t get that contrast with out picking a darker purple or pink and I didn’t want to stray too far from the pastel feel. My glitter was a little bright on my gradient too but the glow polish created a beautiful jelly sandwich.
The holographic glitter on my thumb and ring finger is Finger Paints Colorful Collage, my pastels are Sinful colors – Sugar Rush (blue) and Sweet Tooth (purple), Color Show – Chiffon Chic (pink), and Sally Hansen – Mint Sorbet (green). I also used a small kid size bottle of some no name polish that is a sparse holo-glitter with one coat of China glaze Ghoulish Glow on top. The bats are acrylic paint and I put some small glitter specks for lazer eyes. 😀
I’ve seen a lot of brain nail art the past couple of weeks and I really wanted to try them! So I did a light pink to dark shimmery pink gradient and then tried to mimic the pattern. They aren’t perfect but I’m so happy with how they turned out!!
I kind of just winged it and it was easy enough that I did my other hand (not photographed as I broke it shortly before I did this design, so it’s in time out)!
I used WetnWild-Tickled Pink, Milani-Hot Pink, and Sinful colors-Got A Blush On You. The black is acrylic paint.
The blue polish I used for my base color is Sinful Color’s Endless Blue, with Elf’s Gold and Golden Goddess on my middle. My ring finger was done by dotting Endless Blue, a dark navy polish by kleancolor, and china glaze refresh mint. While it was wet I used the sandwich bag method and dry brushed the gold on top after it was dry.I also fished a few pieces of glitter from golden goddess to place sporadically I painted my tea set in acrylic paints but everything else is polish. I even did my other hand!! 😀 Again thanks to my base coat these lasted forever. I really like that I can have my spiffy art last so much longer. I hope you like them!
