A Very Totoro Halloween

I Reallllly wanted to combine Totoro and Halloween and I debated a bit about how to do it. I saw this beautiful totoro cookie art on google after searching Totoro Halloween done by @evelindecora. I love her design so much I had to have it on my nails. I love the way she did the little pumpkin around the last ones’ head like a lamp. So cute :3

I used Essie Lillacism as a base color but my camera cant photograph light purple (or red, 😦 poor phone) it always shows up grey!! It’s actually a really pretty color in person and I’m sure you can find a million other well photographed swatches that aren’t grey.

These are a little worn before I took pictures, this is probably 1 week of wear. Maybe more I’m not sure I’ve had a lot going on here and no time for nails!! surprising as that is. I don’t think I’ll do another Halloween but I will probably do some autumnal themed stuff.

Spooky Shifty Forest

It’s almost OCTOBERRR!! Which means halloween only nails and also a super long break from Overwatch Nails (I’m still doing them all I promise, Zarya is hard though so ideas are REALLY WELCOME).

I love the way this turned out holy cow! Didn’t expect this level of spooky. The duo-chrome polishes ended up blending really well together.

I used black as a base then I smash marbled Sinful Colors Let Me Go, You Just Wait, and China Glaze’s No Plain Jane on my silicone mat and let them dry into nail stickers. After the spooky background was on I used some black acrylic paint to do the trees.

Yay! Time for more creepy beautiful nails.

Creepy but Cute

I saw these really cute voodoo doll nails on Reddit last year and I didn’t get a chance to try them out. This year I made sure  I did them and I’m so happy with how they turned out! They’re my creepy little buddies, I want to snuggle them.

The polish I used for this design was mostly my base color and the hearts on the little dolls and the silver for the pins.

The colors I used are finger paints Sketchy, with one coat of Elf Fairy Dust and one coat of Salon Perfect Champagne Toast for my base color.

The hearts were done with Finger Paints-Pink Perspective, Klean Color-Sea Ice, and Sinful Colors-Cloud 9, Dream On, and Heavy Metal for the pins. Everything else is acrylic paint.
20151020_162855 copyThey were ridiculously easy to do, I feel like I did them pretty well on my other hand even. I wish I had little heart jewels but I think the silver pins really stand out without them. I cant believe I waited this long to do them though. I want them to stay on forever.

Halloween Occult Nails

It’s October!!! Which means the beginning of my ridiculous themed nail art. I love this part of the year because I have so many excuses to craft!

The polish I used in this look are Finger Paint’s Plum Startled, with Elf’s Fairy Dust and Wet n Wild’s 2% Milk as a base for a more pale look. The symbols are acrylic paints.20151009_144637 copy

I just googled some occult symbols, I have no idea what they mean. I picked symbols that looked easy enough to paint on my non-dominant hand as well.

Can I just say, I love this glitter!! It’s perfect for Halloween!20151009_144352 copy
I can’t wait to do more freaky nail art!

A Me-Mow Halloween

2014-10-28 13.442014-10-28 14.01Me-Mow is a cute little assassin cat from the Adventure Time episode “Jake Vs. Me-Mow”. Since I’m the GM of an adventure time DnD campaign with my friends I thought it would be fun to incorporate it into my nail art since I haven’t had much time (making DnD maps, AT themed, is really time consuming. lol) to paint my nails at all. Not to mention they broke down pretty far, and my middle nail won’t bounce back!

For my colors: I used Through the Grapevine by Sally Hansen as my base color with Klean Color’s Chunk Holo Fuchsia and then China Glaze Ghoulish Glow (Two coats, some were more glowy than the rest, no idea why. Maybe because it’s getting low?). I used acrylic paint to do Me Mow and put more G.G. over the eyes, poison and potion.
